Spectrian (SPCT) has reported a loss far larger than the analysts predicted. I hope this is a not a precursor to PWAV results coming up during the week of 6 July 98. I believe PWAV has picked up some of SPCT business which will be reflected in PWAV quarterly results. PWAV and SPCT are the two main independent power amp firms that supply systems to OEMs like Ericsson, Qualcomm and Nokia.

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 24 (Reuters) - Spectrian Corp. on Wednesday said it expects to report lower than anticipated earnings of $0.40 to $0.50 per share on revenues of $28 to $30 million in its fiscal first quarter ending June 30.
Those figures compare with a profit of $0.68 a share on revenues of $45.8 million in the same period one year ago. Analysts had expected the company to report a first quarter loss of $0.30 as share, according to investment research firm, First Call.
"We were not able to be as aggressive in reducing costs in our manufacturing operation and operating expenses as we had planned," Garrett Garrettson, chief executive officer, said in a statement.
He said the company wanted to remain flexible enough to meet customers' needs and did not want to jeopardize growth and diversification plans later this year and in 1999.
Spectrian supplies ultra linear, high power power amplifiers to wireless communications companies.
