NEUTRINO ISSUES REMINDER RE TAKEOVER BID

CALGARY, June 19 /CNW/ - Neutrino Resources Inc. has issued a reminder to
its shareholders, and to brokers, that 4:30 p.m. (MDST) on Monday, June 22nd,
1998 is the deadline to tender shares to the cash offer of $1.80 (Cdn) per
share made by a wholly owned subsidiary of Southern Mineral Corporation of
Houston, Texas.

Jeff Arsenych, President and CEO of Neutrino Resources, said ''We believe
the price is fair in today's market place and the Directors of Neutrino have
recommended the acceptance of the offer.'' The takeover bid, announced May
l3th, 1998, was a mutually acceptable agreement to enable Southern to acquire
100% of the common shares of Neutrino for cash consideration of $1.80
Cdn/share.

The offer was mailed to shareholders by June 1st, 1998. Griffiths
McBurney & Partners of Calgary are the dealer/manager for the transaction.

In the event of a successful takeover, Neutrino would cease to be listed
on The Toronto Stock Exchange, (NTO) and would operate as a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Southern Mineral Corporation. Southern trades on the NASDAQ
National Market under the symbol ''SMIN''.
