What if the info is true..

but wouldn't move the stock without a few people getting in

and then sucking more people in

because of either their gift of gab or

an orchestrated effort by several to circle around a leader

to make them look like your Guardian Angel

only to find a few hours later, true info or not, you've lost a few K

and they now have found a new stock with even better "true" info

but you're out of money

and don't even wonder a little

how they continue to be happy and prosperous.

Shoot1st.....what's the diff between Hype and Larceny?

Daniel,

<But what if the information they are saying is true? Is it still hyping?>

Look at it this way. OJ Simpson was found not guilty in the slaying of his former wife. Some people say he was found innocent (implying that because a jury didn't convict him, he therefore is innocent). Others say no, he's guilty as sin, but the jury failed to convict him. Am I hyping OJ's character if I refer to him as "innocent", or am I bashing him if I refer to him as "having gotten away with murder because the jury didn't vote for conviction"? See, the "truth" is subject to interpretation and personal perspectives.

To get back to stock hyping, it doesn't really matter what the truth is regarding a given set of circumstances in any given stock. If the poster of a "fact" cannot back up his/her claim with verifiable, independent and reliable source(s), then that "fact" or "truth" is tantamount to an opinion or speculation, and should be presented as such. In other words, a "truth" isn't the truth until it can be independently proven as such.
