i read the message about the buyout rumor at Yahoo also; it seems like this is based on the trade of 1.8 mil share that took place the other day. i talked to a broker about this trade and he thought that it could have been a money manager that just didn't want to show RDRT in its portfolio at the end of this quarter. this broker indicated that the same money manager would probably buy the stock back after the quarter ended
however this same broker indicated that it looked like RDRT had bottomed and that i should consider adding to my position.

of course it could be Maxtor or some other company that was buying in the open market ahead of a takeover bid

i think it is likely that RDRT will announce a plant closing in the near future. i called the company about this and the answer i got was "no comment". As unfortunate as this is for the employees, i think it will be good for the stock price.
