If Y2k turns out to be very disruptive for the economy, Gold and gold shares would offer a good oppty after 17 years of downtrending...

John, thanks for starting this thread. i used to have the Alpha stragety by John Pudgsley but loaned it to someone and can not get it back. In this book, items of value are outlined. The only one I remember was razor blades, his ideas were high unit cost and small in storage space. I like the cigarettes idea. Plan on getting into cash soon and looking to "invest" something that will weather the Y2K whether it be very mild or very stormy.
