tom, your gains in amzn are real. don't be greedy. maybe take some dough off the tae table and invest in a straddle. maybe oct 85 calls and oct 65 puts. this bowser will do anything but stay still.

you can still make good gains and risk a lot less dough.

good luck...

I have serious doubts about anybody's ability to confidently predict the direction on this.

I could not agree more. Even though I'm betting it will go down from here, I've thought that since January. Only now that Yahoo is finally showing a loss do I think we will see these internet high-fliers break down. And I might be very wrong. Nobody is trading AMZN on fundamentals, that is certain. Will they eventually? I think so.

If we go lower next week, I might buy some cheap out of the money calls just to make sure this thing can't take all my put option premiums away from me if it takes off again.

Good luck to all.

Tom D, you wrote< I don't think anybody on this thread or I know when the valuation will return to one based on fundamentals. >
Who does? Do you think that an addicted crap player who is having his ass kicked, thinks that sooner or later the dice will return to fundamentals?
Do you think that the addicted crap player who is, on a roll thinks its time to leave before the dice return to fundamentals?
Fundamentals? Remember! Its the Amzn Cfo, Ms Covey that made EBITA (earnings before interest taxes and amortization) throw GAAP (general accounting principles) out the window, for ever.
