WaveRider Communications Inc. Captures Global Attention

as Wireless Internet Bridge Goes to Market - Million-dollar
contracts for NCL135 confirm worldwide market demand -

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--WaveRider Communications Inc., a

global leader in wireless Internet products, confirmed the

powerful market appeal of its newly-launched NCL135 with the

announcement of significant contracts for pilot installations

scheduled to commence in July.

"WaveRider(r) is now open for business," said Bruce Sinclair,

WaveRider's president and CEO. "After more than a year in

development, the NCL135, a wireless bridge linking local area

networks to the Internet backbone, is completed. Customer support

has been tremendous; pilots have been built and orders are being

received."

British Columbia companies were quick to support WaveRider's new

technology with contracts for pilot installations representing

more than $1 million (US) of WaveRider Wireless Internet

Networking (WIN) products to be installed over the next 12 months.

They include DeafNet Communications International Inc.

(www.deafnet.com), a provider of specialized applications

including video conferencing over the Internet to the world's deaf

community.

"WaveRider's wireless Internet access solution will help us

promote communication through the use of sign language by

providing affordable video conferencing solutions to the deaf and

hard of hearing peoples of the world," said Joe Evans, DeafNet's

CEO.

Also taking advantage of WaveRider's high-speed wireless access

product are Internet Service Providers, FSJ.Net (www.fsj.net.com),

a Northern BC provider of Internet services in Fort St. John and

surrounding area, and Internet Gateway Corporation

(www.intergate.bc.ca) based in Vancouver.

WaveRider demonstrated its commitment to the Internet with the use

of a live Web cast of its Vancouver news conference and product

demonstrations. Both Web casts can be viewed by logging onto

www.waverider.com.

The NCL135 seamlessly integrates with the LMS270 system, designed

to connect end-users to the Internet via wireless modems. The

LMS270 is scheduled to ship later this year. Together, the systems

facilitate a complete wireless Internet access solution.

Founded in 1997, WaveRider is a leading wireless technology

company that develops, manufactures and markets products for data

communications and Wireless Internet Networking (WIN).

WaveRider's high performance products use frequency-hopping,

spread spectrum technology coupled with time division multiple

access techniques and operate in the license-free 900MHz and

2.4GHz ISM frequency bands.
