Bob G.

I just heard someone today talking to a friend of his at work (okay I was listening to the conversation, but hey I was bored and it was a public area ;-) ). .He was saying "remember how I told you 3 or 4 years ago that ASIA was a big sham.." and his buddy saying sheepishly "yes".. ;-).. so I'll forward your question about Asia to him ;-)

There that was my most untechincal post ever.

Steve

Bob,

What a change from five or six years ago, when everyone was touting the great Asian economic miracle and America's tecnology epitaph had been written

I remember the pundits and talking heads. The one I remember vividly is Lester Thorow. I always thought that guy has always been a complete joke. It just took a while for everyone else to realise. Is he still at MIT? I think MIT should stick with Technology.

And various talking heads, and even some Democratic presidential candidates told us to follow Japannese or German model. Germany now has probably more unemployed than the US, Japan is on the verge of collapse.
