From the Red Herring,
Investors are actually a victim of their own greed," said Mr. Simons. "Because of the Disney deal, Yahoo and AOL now have some serious competition on the Internet -- and yet who's going to pay those prices when they can buy Excite or Lycos or Netscape for a whole lot less?"

Mr. Simons and others are amazed that it's taken the media players this long to come around. Just a few years ago, it would have cost them $100-200 million to have a presence on the Internet; now it costs a cool billion at least. Disney's deal with Infoseek, valued at anywhere from $400-600 million depending on how you massage the numbers, looks like a steal.

"My hat goes off to those guys at Disney," says Mr. Blodgett. "It was a work of art, a masterpiece."

Mr. Simons agrees: "It's a gorgeous deal for Disney, and typical of them. They used other people's money to get exactly what they wanted."
I think they are wrong, its going to cost DIS next to nothing. They get everything back, and more.
