>> I still ask, Don't Market makers make money by "Making a Market" in a stock? The difference in the spread? Doesn't matter the price. <<

Price does matter from what I've learned from people on SI. I don't pretend to know this to be true, so if I am wrong somebody please correct me.

The way I understand this is the MMs match buyers and sellers. If more people are buying a certain stock than selling, the MMs must short the stock to match all of the buyers. If the price keeps going up, the MMs could end up losing a lot of money.

Jetta you are right. It is the hype that is the problem. No one takes the time to look at even an alleged long hold. They buy and bitch when it falls back from the profit taking.

I am out of here till I calm down (if I calm down) and just may go back to my old ways. At least I made money. Every single stock I own now (longs and shorter plays) are down. At the risk of sounding like I am whining, there is something wrong here. These are good solid stocks, and EVERY one is down. I made the decision to buy them, I am not blaming anyone else. But this is just NOT working for me, and unless and until there is a quiet private group of like minded people who invest as a team with goals I can agree with, I'm back on my own.

Jetta:
TCBG was mentioned at least a week ago at .65+ by some of us. Obviously, Most people don't look past the Ticker. Too Bad. Little and Big Gems are being mentioned all the time. People just have to search them out with some DD.

Jetta,

I have around 30 plus hours of DD on TCBG. We have a thread. The stock will be 5 dollars by summers IMO. Lots of people will be buying it and then brokers will jump in. There are investors in TCBG and NBET at the 5-7 dollar and you are complaining. So your point is totally invalid IMO. If you are long on a stock and you buy after run maybe its time to average down. It sounds to me like you want in at the bottom and sell at the top. It don't always work that way and this is the reason why Big Dog is trying to post longs so everyone wins.

>> If people like BigDog, etc. had good long term picks why not just put it out without the prior notices, does this make sense? <<

Well, it's a tactic. It builds up interest and makes triggers itchy. There were many people who got dumped on when they bought into NBET in a self induced frenzy earlier this week. As the price of the stock slid, talk of MM games, long term holding, and other nonsense was put out by various pups to attempt to stabilize the price. No NBET announcements this week and none are guaranteed for next week.

This game that people are playing is the lair of BBs. I suppose some do not realize the immense risk that BB stocks hold; that, and the easy manipulation in these stocks. Guess a lot of people are learning the ropes the hard way.

>> While I think the coming pick by Copia sounds like he is trying something different, it is still the same idea. <<

Nothing has changed. Why tell people to wait for the next big thing and build anticipation? Why not simply put it out and ask for discussion and let people do their own DD? Won't matter much anymore, seems like people are getting tired of this little game.

>If you ask me its the sudden "hit" on these stocks that creates what you all call "Market Maker" games. < Then Buy BRK.B it is not marginable.

And that is why you don't buy all at once, if you believe in a stock and enough people also believe in the stock, yes a sudden hit will cause what you call "Market Maker" games. If these "games" are short lived then the market maker wins,IE he sells you stock at $3 and buys it back from you at $1.50. Now if enough buying over time occurs then sooner or later the books have to be balanced and the stock value goes back up. So you really have to plan on buying the dips on some of these stocks for 1-6 months and let a few of these market maker cycles or "games" play out. If you use that approach you will accumulate growth positions over time. I for one am still long on NBET, it will have another day in the sun!!! And I'm sure if it does the Big Dog will be around to mark his territory!! ( Thinking to myself about the Cheech and Chong dog skit!! What a hoot!)
