It's the same way GE was washed up when their primary market in electrical generating and electric appliances was maturing. They went on to become the biggest finance company in the world and one of the largest holders of media assets such as television stations and networks.

The people who were smart enough to sell their GE stock in 1936 will tell you, "GE stock will fall apart any minute now, I predicted that in 1936 and its only a matter of time till the weak investor realizes how right I was."
