I went through Yahoo last night and obtained the latest listed
information on earnings estimates for this year and next year. Then
a comparison was made with the performance of the group stocks over
the last 8 weeks. As you can see below, there is no correlation
between the percentage of price performance of each stock and the
P/E ratios based on Friday's closing price. This is just another
way of saying there is no correlation between analysts estimates and
price performance of the stocks. Notice how the stocks at the bottom
of the list, which lost the most during the last 8 weeks, have some
very good P/E ratios compared to many of the stocks at the top of the
list which have lost less. AFLX for one looks very good.

Now the same group can be sorted using the last column, next years
P/E. The top 10 to 15 stocks on this list really took a beating over
the last 8 weeks compared to many of those on the bottom of the list.
Look at AFLX, ASYT, SMTL, SFLX and ETEC to name a few. It doesn't
make sense!
