The best thing they can do is decide how they wish to handle the write off and reveal this to the analysts now. It will get disseminated and be old news. I really don't think the price of this stock is likely to be impacted much by special charges. The price went up because of sales and operating revenues. The price collapsed when it appeared that future sales and operating revenues were negatively impacted by events. The price is going back up because it looks like the future is again rosey. Getting any bad news out of the way can only IMO be positive. But reducing the uncertainty for sure would be positive.
