Tom: "Graduate level stuff?" Graduate from what? Nursery school? You use circuitous logic and mix that failing with blanked out thought and picking and choosing what you will believe at the moment because taken as a whole there are so many conflicts the pattern that develops wouldn't even make a good patchwork quilt! "Now whenever you have the Spirit of God depart from someone, an evil spirit will take residence. Now God created all things, even the angels that rebelled against Him. Did God create evil? Of course not, all of God's creation, where He gave the power of volition (the angels and mankind), choose for themselves if they want to do good or evil." This does not address the belief by christians that god knows all things, thus god knew that what he was going to create was imperfect (perfection purposefully creating imperfection) and that it would be evil (where only good was, now came forth evil -- created intentionally by the good). Ridiculous concept, yet there it is. Also, the incident I described specifically says that Saul once again began to love David. This angered god (what kind of omnipotent creator has such base, imperfect emotions? More like a Zeus or Odin than a true creator!) and he SENT evil spirits to torment Saul and turn him against David again. In essence, Saul had awakened from his madness and mean spiritedness, tried to reconcile with David, show friendship and love, but jehovah, the good old guy that everyone should trust, doesn't want peace and love between the two, so he SENDS an evil spirit to stop it. On top of all this, before the universe was created, god knew this day would come, that he would pick Saul to be king, then torment him, etc. I have to say, you sure believe in a weird god. An evil-good god. No wonder the Tibetan monks shake their heads and smile in infinite tolerance when the subject of christians comes up. FT
