Dear Jane : I have known so many people to be diagnosed with cancers when they have gone through a divorce. Unhappiness breeds a weakened immune system. We will never know all the reasons but unhappiness causes chemicals in the brain to change; and if a person lacks essential minerals etc. it is hard to get the body back on track. Dr Weil stipulates that medicines do not heal only God heals, chemo does not heal, it only knocks the cancer in the head hard enough for the body to heal itself. The natural state of a body always wants to return itself to health. He talks about cleansing the body of toxins. So the body can heal itself. I always take a very complete approach; total body and mind approach when praying for a person with cancer. Faith is good, it's great ! But so many times we must allow God to open up our minds to His TOTAL approach to good health. I have always held on to the belief that if you take two people; one miraculously healed of cancer and the other person, one living out a complete healthy life, free from diseases, victoriously living for Christ, living a good clean life free from sin and that person dying of old age; that the greatest testimony of the two is the person that has been healthy all his life. The healing God , or word that it is derived from emanates from the greek word that refers to "Preventative Medicine". We must first pray that God give him the hope of a healing even if it is the form of a single golden thread the thickness of a thread, dropped down from heaven itself. Let us pray that we can be that "THREAD" he is looking for. In Christ name......Amen
