Whoops!! I just made a mistake by setting up the PII at 300Mhz (75x4) instead of 338Mhz (75x4.5) during installation. After corrected it to 338Mhz (75x4.5), the PII-338 responses better and is almost as fast as a K6-336 on 112Mhz bus. However, it still take more than 2 seconds to load Word97 while a M2-208Mhz could do the the same job in less than 2 seconds. The success of Intel is definitely not from their technology.
