The Hawaii economy stinks. The Yen only hurts more.

The rest of the nation is doing very well. We lived high on the hog for many years, with all the Japanese money flowing into the state etc.. Payback's a bitch. :-)

>>Clearly ERTS should be awarded a higher market cap than BROD or THQI<<

Should "market cap" read "P/E" instead? Since market cap is simply the product of number of outstanding shares and price per share, it's a calculation rather than a figure which is "awarded", which implies it's a variable based on sentiment.

I've seen two ads on Nickelodeon for the Rugrats movie now, both have shown on the weekends around 11AM. We're in store for a spectacular ride with this one folks :o)

For anyone who read my post a while back, the movie DOES feature a NEW Rugrat named Dil, who is Tommy's baby brother. Stuff, my 8 year old son was GLUED to the TV when it showed, so believe me this movie is going to suck in attendance and create a massive demand for accessory products.

Here's my prediction: Rugrats will become one of the top 5 animated movies of all time, in terms of gross revenue. Sales of companion products for other top animated movies like Lion King can be analyzed to help determine how much spending this movie may generate.

RUGRATS!

Regards, JB

all this talk of PE's sounds a bit goony... dont get me wrong, would love a 40 PE next month... but I liken the PE to AllStar balloting in major league baseball

NewYork and Calif players (companies) get more votes (greater liquidity) than foreigners due to recognition ... players slightly over the hill still get voted as starters (higher PE's -- see ERTS, Campbell Soup) ... a couple good years with solid stats (sales, growth, earnings) and you still wont get the respect of older players who have done it for better part of decade ... and when a budding young star has a serious injury which cuts into his stats, he loses serious votes (see THQ vis-a-vis WCW)

the contrasting element of this argument has AllStar balloting basically backward looking all the time ... PE ratio awards "claim" to be forward looking

PE=20 would be just dandy this summer agin trailing 4q, just like before the WCW announcemt of "free agency"

tongue not in cheek / Jim Willie
