"Market tops are always characterized by excessive bullishness, bottoms by excessive bearishness. The same thing goes in individual stocks. The other thing individuals should avoid is overly aggressive trading."

Q: Which is exactly what Internet trading is seducing a lot of neophyte investors into.
A: Not just the 'Net. Actually, most portfolio managers trade too aggressively -- for their own neurotic reasons. Individuals can win by taking advantage of that overly aggressive trading by many professionals.

Can we use AMZN as one of those stocks?

Thanks Glenn---Could be that Friday's move up was option related, but this pattern of
afternoon lull and drive higher to the close is still intact if somewhat disturbed. I expect
the pattern to repeat Monday and the stock to peak at 80 again. Why not? It's worked fine
so far except for one day. If the stock doesn't rally twice in the day, then the pattern is
broken and we are probably in a new ballgame.

Peter,

I am clearly hoping for a break in the pattern. I had noticed the afternoon lulls in the past but made nothing of it. You did. Gives us shorts a break<G>
