Dave, you're going to have to ask American direct, I'll bet. As a private company they have not had squat requirements to tell anyone but the IRS anything at all. It seems to me Ted mentioned that more or less about why no one would find too much about the company out there, but that the company was doing very well as private and more or less felt it was time to join the hollywood crowd on the Board, so to speak. That's my take on it, hope I'm not taking too much license here. I had to sell my larger holding to pick up something else that is atually going up I'm down over l/2 here, and that's not easy to live with. I will look very close to catch the rise, which is way overdue, but now more than even oil is in the hole, so we'll see how much affect it has on a rise in stock price. Hopefully this is going to continue to be an IRA account for me, and I only hope for the best with OPPs fields and American's success so far. But I know nothing about them. Can you get something by calling Ted? Don't know why not.

Good Morning We have received confirmation from the SEC the Form S-4 was made effective at 5.00PM Thursday July 23, 1998. The information circular and Proxy are in the mail, with the finalizing of the merger on Friday August 21, 1998 at the Special Shareholders Meeting. The information circular is a large document, some 200 pages and covers both Optima and American Explorer. On the drilling front, we have two wells on the go now, one is in the process of flow testing and the other is still drilling, both natural gas. So, if you have any questions just call or e-mail me.
