Erin,
In case you have not noticed, if you can not manage the COSTS you are not going to be around to manage the CARE either. KP says that they will have rides to cover the cost of Viagra if the insured group wants to pay for this benefit. Right now various groups have pharmacy benefits that pay 0 to 100% of RX meds. Are you arguing that ALL insurance plans should cover all RX meds for every purpose?

And when, please tell me, will you insist that ALL insurance plans cover such basic life-saving standards of care as childhood immunizations? Many indemnity plans still do not cover immunizations for children. Where is your outrage???
Jim

Erin4, you are right on the mark!!! It's about time these big HMOs were reined in and made accountable, most particularly Kaiser... There was an article in USA TODAY last Saturday about this situation...According to the article, people have actually lost their lives because some HMOs have refused to provide the medical care requested by physicians who examined the patients...In the case of Kaiser, they sure treat themselves very well, and they reflect a great deal of wealth...They have very fancy buildings and offices...but in my opinion, they are shortchanging their clients..
