As I chuckle... I can see the news headlines now when CPQ announces an increase in the quarterly dividend: 1.) 'Compaq board approves 33% increase in its quarterly dividend [.015 to .02];'then later 2.) 'Compaq dividend to increase 50% [.02 to .03].'

The regular increasing of dividends, which is one of the things some investors screen for, is essentially what was stated by Compaq as their purpose in establishing a dividend last year in a comment in their annual meeting this year so I guess we can look for regular percentage increases over the years.
