Argentina 5 x 0 Jamaica final

Third "GOLIZA" of the tournament

Oh well.... I had said " Argentina should score once maybe twice more"...

I meant to say three or more.....

In soccer, at least some time ago, it was considered than when a team was obviously superior, but the winner would be "civil" about the whole thing, it was an unwritten "rule of honor" not to defeat the lesser team by more than 5 goals. (as in 5 x 0).

In fact in some cases, the "honor" goal was sought by the losing team and even "allowed by the winning team. a 6 x 0 score, (or more) was not only humiliating but seen as a totally deplorable thing, as sign that the loosing team really did not 'deserve' to be in that game at all. Rarely do you see in soccer a defeat by more than 5 x 0

Of course anything that is a 4 x 0 (or more) is considered a "GOLIZA".

Well boyz and girls (I hope there are some out there lurking), we have witnessed the third one of this cup...

France 4 x 0 Saudi Arabia

Holland 5 x 0 S. Korea

Argentina 5 x 0 Jamaica.

Glad to see it did not go into 6 x 0 not nice..... Even if yoyu are obviously superior, you do not want to totally puree your opponent, I am glad to see that it was Argentina this time around that showed some degree of civility in their clear and deserved victory.

So now we go into what might be a very good match USA -Vs- Iran.
