Henry,
I looked into the Libertarian Party as an alternative to the Republicans who are completely two faced with the christians saying yes and then after the election doing none of what they promise for the votes. The Libertarians condemn themselves to never being a mainstream party by their stance on legalizing drugs and abortion. Legalizing drugs would eventually destroy our society which any thinking person has to realize. And being pro-abortion totally ignores the rights of the unborn to life. The drugs and abortion issues will keep the christians out of the party and the attitudes towards government although appealing to christians are negated by the other issues I mentioned. Libertarianism cannot attract the political middle because it is a party with extreme views. It cannot attract democrats because Democrats are a species <gg> that loves government and believes government and enough money can solve any problem. Democrats could not come to a party that wants to severely limit government, get rid of the IRS, make taxation voluntary, etc. So the Libertarians are relegated to the political backwaters really never having a chance. If they tossed the legalizing drugs and pro-abortion issues they would have a chance of attracting disenfranchised republicans. But that would only split the republican party ensuring the democrats would have the white house as long as they could keep from really screwing up. Like being in office when a severe recession hits us as it looks like Clinton will be. Look out Gore, you have no chance in 2000!

cya,

Bob
