Virtual Resolution

The 2D resolution on the MII will not change with the addition of more than 8 MB of memory (I have been reading the manual). Maximum 3D display area will increase with more than 8 MB RAM.

I have been playing with the virtual options. The proportional virtual resolution yields the most virtual space. The horizontal or vertical modes are merely truncated versions of the proportional mode.

I now have a 1024 X 768 display area and a 2048 X 1536 virtual screen. This is the equivalent of four monitors. One below, one to the right and one at the lower right.

I have two browser windows open side by side with the task bar to the far right. Windows explorer and the CD controls are between the right browser window and the taskbar. Both browser windows are double length (stretched to the bottom of the virtual screen). This setup is pretty slick for reading posts, especially long ones. The post opens full length. It is much easier to scroll the screen than it is to scroll a post.
