For those entities with the resources and vision to work their way out of Y2K, they will be successful. For those entities (state and local governments) without the resources and vision, there will be many problems.

I have seen and regrettably worked on 20 year Cobol spaghetti code with no maintainance documentation and date fields named after programmers' favorite pets. Think of that. Still functional software with a conservative estimate of 200 programmers having at one time or another touched program code with probably the final 190 praying that the program doesnt crash on them because it will take months to figure out what it does. I am talking about large batch and TP loan processing andd financial programs that must change annually at least because of federal or state law changes.

Believe me friend, I am glad I became an investor.
