Did I strike (pardon the pun) a nerve there Dennis? Do you think that auto workers should be paid overtime for anything over 6 hours per day, while the norm for the rest of the nation gets overtime for over 40 per week? Look at the pay these guys get for operating factory equipment: $69K + $21K in bennies. That's $90K a year, and these guys are on strike. That's why I said fire 'em all. I'm not dissing the skill etc needed to run large manufacturing machines for making important automotive parts, but let's have a little bit of equity with the rest of America. I'm with GM on this, from what I can see so far.

Unions have their place, but all too often they are self-serving entities unto themselves, more interested in preserving their political power than actually working on a positive constructive basis with management as a team, for the betterment of all.
