it needs to be integrated into an application

First of all, notifying salespeople of delays in shipping is not something you can get from the erps. The erps stop at pick-release, so to provide this sort of information first you'd have to tackle the erp-shipper outbound logistics issue and then get that info back into erp (it is NOT there now) and then somehow move that info back into vantive via push technology. I have nothing against push technology btw.

And as far as notifying salespeople of other erp events such as credit hold (things that DO occur inside erp, unlike logistics), then the erps already have tools that do this (for Oracle its Oracle alert, which used to send an email based on certain events but probably works with the web now, I havent looked).

So what exactly is the value add of Wayfarer? Not the integration with the erps, which is the larger issue here. They should change the press release to reflect that.

it's already in use by several fortune 200 type clients for exactly that.

I hate to tell you this, but Dell is having more problems with this logistics notification issue back to sales than any other transaction set. But Wayfarer has solved it, oh sure.
