I have a problem with stop limit orders. On both Friday and Monday I entered a sell stop limit for Infoseek. The stock was trading at 33.25 or higher. I put a limit price of 33 1/8 with a stop limit of 33. Both times the stock traded at those prices and went much lower without the sell happening. On Friday I even recieved an Email saying the stop was being activated. It wasn't. Luckily for me both times the stock recovered and closed above the limit.

Did I do something wrong in entering the prices?

Thanks,

George

Tim, I have yet to see the credit interest for June applied to my account. It's July 11 already. This is unacceptable. What the hell is going on? I called a few days ago and was told that it would be applied very soon. Apparently not.

Your new customer service agreement details the many ways Datek will ensure it gets money from the customer in a timely manner. What about Datek giving the customer his or her money in a timely manner?

Has anybody else seen their credit interest for June?

Tim:

Here's a Datek customer service story:

Thursday July 2: I mail a check to Datek.

Thursday July 9: The deposit is not yet posted to my account.

Friday July 10: I call Datek and the customer service guy says they have not received the check. I inquire further about the route of the check when it hits their offices. He gets testy. I give up, order a stop payment on the check.

Saturday July 11: I receive a pleasant and professional letter from Datek's Cashiering Department/GS, dated July 8, with my unsigned check enclosed. I forgot to date and sign the check. oops.

Tim: Don't you guys have a way for one person at Datek to post notes on my account so that another person can know what's going on?

This sort of stuff tends to erode confidence, particularly the testy attitudes.

Best to all, Peter (I still like Datek, just a little less than before)

I must admit that I am disturbed by the fact that June's interest credit has not been posted as of this date and time. I haven't worried about it before, because it is a really inconsequential amount of money, but the fact that it is delayed so long makes me wonder if Datek isn't having financial problems. It's not right if you guys are using my money to "play the float", and if it's a sign of deeper financial problems it's terrible. Waterhouse has never had a problem posting the monthly dividend to my account there on the last day of the month. I am starting to wonder why it is so difficult for Datek to accomplish.
