I agree,

Example:

FPL - Florida Power & Light has no idea how many imbedded chips they have as of May (a quote directly from the company) let alone how many of those chips may be date sensitive. Hey, at least were not up in snow country! Hoping TAVA/R.W.Beck and Rick Cowles will get things straight for the utilities but it doesnt look good.

Tokyo, what, no ZITL in your portfolio?

I am of the belief that the major problem with y2k is not going to be computer and chip bugs (those will/are being fixed), but over reaction by investors dumping stocks and taking money out of banks in late 1999 out of fear of y2k. Late 1999 will be the buying opportunity of the NEXT century as we will rally big time in January 2000 when the world wakes up and is still here and the lights are still on.

There you have it, an avowed shortseller just predicted the beginning of the next bull market. Buy in late '99!

That's right. The fact that GM has dedicated so much money to Y2K should tell you something. I work at a large telecommunications company, and they are putting really big bucks into making sure all their software is Y2K compliant. Much of this code is old and written in COBOL. Check out SEEC for a good investment in this area. The fact that it's hard to put your finger on just what the demand will be makes SEEC a good buy right now. They have a proven product and a *very* low PE.
