Hello all,

It's almost amusing to watch the discussion that is occurring ...

I'm a shareholder of Cisco ... and of Lucent. And the funny thing is that I know that one day they are both going to be beat by some new upstart ...

And the only reason they might avoid being beat is if they are smart enough to see it coming and buy out the new start-up!

But funny ... no matter how easy that seems, no one bought Cisco ... because they didn't see it coming.

We humans are a funny thing ... we have a hard time imagining things that take more time than our life time ... or sometimes even something that would take a decade ...

Nothing lasts forever ...

I love Csco, am long it, and have made tons of money in it. I'm wondering, though, if it may not be getting to be time to lighten up a bit for a while.

After all, its trading at better than 40x 12month forward earnings.

How much further can it go before earnings catch up a bit??

Since there is always a chance that it could correct significantly with the market, if there appears to be little upside for a while, would some lightening up be smart? Intending to re-up upon any significant pullback? Or even a smaller one, if accompanied by the passage of some time?

(Let me fully disassociate myself from Stockman, BTW.)
