Upgrading a Pentium 200 to a Pentium 233 MMX

MMX is for games and there are not very MMX games around. Don't concern yourself with MMX.

A new Pentium 200 MMX would be faster than your machine but not because of the chip speed. A pentium 200 is a fast chip. It would be faster because it would have a clean harddisc. Maybe you have another bottleneck too.

You need to give us more details. Do you have one harddisc or two. You indicate you have a 1.2 GB drive and then you go on to state you have a C and a D drive. What is the size of the C drive and what is the size of the D Drive?

Go to my computer and right click your drive. Then click properties and you will see drive stats. Tell us what size drives you have and how full they are.

I do not think the memory message is referring to your RAM. The problem is more likely related to a full harddisc.

First cleanup your harddisc a little and see if it helps. If it does a larger harddisc should do the trick. You can get a 6.5 GB drive for less than $200. If you can install a modem you can install a harddisc. If you do not feel comfortable doing it have someone else do it for you.

You might have some files in your temp file that you can delete. Here are some instructions #reply-4451359

To uninstall some old programs go to settings/control panel/add/remove programs. Answer no if it asks you about shared file deletion. ( I am assuming you are using Win95, if not let us know)
