Banshee 2D performance is close to theoretical maximum? Now that's fast! I have to imagine all those Powerpoint Charts at work will fly! This sounds tooooo good to be true. Who cares about 3D if you can get significant measurable performance increase for 2D alone. Am I reading all this stuff correctly? Joe C.

Just to clarify, is Banshee Voodoo I or Voodoo II based?
The way I read it the 3d performance does not equal Voodoo II.

If it is Voodoo I, Why! Why hold back in hopes of keeping the 3d only thing alive. It seems like this company has a "good enough" attitude. Good enough will keep the competition close and as soon as one of them comes up with something better 3dfx is behind. I hope they have been in concurrent development for Banshee II.
