RENTON, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 25, 1998--Eagle Hardware & Garden, Inc. (Nasdaq NM:EAGL) today announced that Charles L. Hall has joined the Company as Senior Vice President-Real Estate.
"Chuck Hall has more than 20 years of experience in retail real estate in the western United States," said Richard Takata, Eagle President and CEO. "His leadership skills and expertise in the areas of site selection and transactions will complement our existing store development team. Chuck's addition to Eagle comes at an important time as we prepare to accelerate our growth in store openings."

In his new position, Mr. Hall will be responsible for all real estate and store development activities at the Company, including site selection, transaction negotiation, governmental permitting and store development.

Mr. Hall, 48, has worked in various real estate capacities since his career began in 1972. Most recently, he spent six years as a Vice President of Real Estate for PETsMART. Prior to working for PETsMART, Mr. Hall held real estate positions with several other retailers, including American Stores Company, Jewel Companies and Lucky Stores.

Eagle Hardware & Garden operates 32 warehouse home improvement centers in Washington, Utah, Colorado, Hawaii, Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana and Oregon. The Company's home centers average 128,000 square feet of retail selling space and feature over 65,000 products under its "More of Everything"(R) merchandising philosophy.
