<<"They all have one breath; and man hath no preeminence above the beasts" Ecclesiastes 3:19. >>

Read a little further because the writer makes a clear distinction between the spirit of a man and a beast. verse 21 says it's only the spirit of a man which is capable of rising.

<<You say 2:7 means man is immortal. >>

If man was not immortal then he should have no fear of judgement except in this life. But the scriptures say it is appointed for man once to die and then the judgement.

<<"The dead know not anything" Ecc 9:5>>

As I said before this refers to death in its earthly aspect, in relation to this present life. It has nothing to do with the life to come.

Hades was a place of the dead. it was divided into at least two known sections. One part, referred to as Abraham's bosom is where Abraham and lazarus were. The other, referred to as the abode of the dead is where the rich man found himself. Between the two was a great gulf that none could cross and yet sight and sound could penetrate with no problem.

The lake of fire is found in Revelations. It was created for the devil and his cohorts but will also be the final destination of most of mankind.
