*** OT *** -but where else to post this?

The new Insider Trading feature at Yahoo won my heart instantly, but I'm having doubts. For example, take a look at ASEC and see recent options exercises for >10 (stock could be bought in the market for 5) and selling for 38 (at which price ASEC has never traded.) It's not a one time anomaly, because all down the chart there are such examples, along with normal looking exercises at $1+change.

Can anybody suggest a meaning for this? Has anyone else noticed such glaring examples in other issues?

-Alan

Jess,

while I think your estimates, in the trillions, are too high, this $500 billion is too low.

If it is really just a measly $500B, I think the problem would be long gone. The last hint of some better numbers came from LTCB's announcement of trying to categorize the loans into uncollectable, difficult to collect and likely collectable (not the exact terms but you get the meaning). This is a prelude to a LTCB (Long Term Credit Bank) merger or takeover.

The Japanese are known to move slowly and cautiously with very long horizons in their analysis. Could LTCB be a test before they disembark on a more ambitious plan?

It is easy to allow the issue of Japan or Asia to distract us from the more important subject - my investments. Instead of trying to take blind stabs, I think the one thing coming out of Japan in the next couple of months would be more meaningful figures. If those are positive (a true <$500billion figure), I opine that the flu is over.
