Look at charts. A doubling in the price doesn't mean calamity, Jim. It would if it doubled and stayed at that level, but often the price of PM's will have a spike due to one shock or another. If you are going to hold gold or mining shares for that matter you must be ready to pull the trigger on any appreciable spike.

You are right if there is a huge sustained increase in the price of gold it would mean we are all in deep stuff.
