Thomas even at 8 months it could hardly be described as a bear market, with the DOw and S&P up alot since Dec 97.

Tom-
Empire may have been referring to the natural gas bear market. It peaked around the end of January 1997, and has given only glimmers of hope since then. It's up today, however. Sure hope its recovery is for real. Last year it began a nice rise at the end of July, and perhaps we'll have a corresponding rise a month earlier this time.
