Steve Hanke (former adviser to Suharto, professor of economics at Johns Hopkins) has a piece in the July 6 issue of Forbes where he says: "Treasury Secretary Rubin is giving the Japanese tainted advise."

"The Japanese backlash against U. S. economic imperialism is underway. That might be good for Japan, but it promises a weaker yen and a possible second wave of Asian devaluations."
