the interview is over. needless to say, a quite impressive and highly confident young man. while the rest of us were smokin' dope in our dorm rooms Michael was building computers, but he is obviously very intelligent and knows DELL's strengths well enough to stay focused and exploit the competition's blind spots. he also struck me as polite, balanced, and had an air of propriety. like I've said, I am not selling...btw, the stock is up +3 1/2 at the intraday high of over $88.5....THANK YOU, MR. MICHAEL DELL!

Jim, any thoughts on the Gateway Yourware lease program?

At first glance $50 a month for a PC with Internet access would look attractive. If I understand it, there is a requirement for 2 years.

Unlimited Internet access goes for $15/month. So $35/month goes toward the PC. 24 months of $35 yields $840. The question becomes then would you be willing to pay an additional $850 to own it outright?

The advertising is targeted at home personal use. Most folks won't outgrow there PC in 2 years doing homework and surfing the net.

I think the program will flop like the bigscreen PC.
