But yes, they are gonna pay it. And everyone adopting the high speed interface standard will face the same (more or less) royalty costs. So whatever the Ram producers make should not be hurt. (The way it really works of course is that the early producers of the latest greatest soon-to-be-commodity chips make nice strong margins, which then fall sharply --- and the last adders of commodity capacity get killed. All of which results in wild swings in pricing and in capacity as makers try to figure out when the supply/demand line will cross over.)

But anyway, yes it does gall them. Big time. <gg>
