As for technology, at least part of it is licensed through Voxware. Voxware creates voice and video compression software. If you haven't heard of them and think they are small time, take note that Oracle tapped them for their technology last fall for Oracle's video and audio projects. Here's their PR from last October 30. Voxware Announces Agreement with Digitcom to Enhance Voice Transmission Quality in New Gateway Product Princeton, NJ - October 30, 1997 - Voxware, Inc. announced that Digitcom Interactive Video Network (OBB: DGIV) has licensed Voxware's RT29 compression/decompression (codec) technology. Digitcom expects to offer the first UNIX-based Internet Protocol (IP) telephony suite of services using Voxware's MetaVoiceTM RT29 codec. Voxware's technology enables Digitcom to integrate high quality voice transmission over the Internet with traditional telephony networks, ushering in the era of true convergence. .......................... Just wanted to share that.... Kurt (back to work now)
