So what does the overturn of the injunction mean for Netscape and Microsoft?

My take: Publically, it's a short term slap in the face for Jackson, the DOJ, and their supporters. It also signals that the appeals court is going to be very tough. And may be more sympathetic to Microsoft's claims of "uniformity of Windows experience"

Long term, I'm not sure what this means. Windows 98 is out already, so this is kind of a moot point. But companies which have planned to remove the IE icon now cannot do so. This public embarassment to them may resonate poorly for Microsoft. It certainly will propel the DOJ and Jackson to be extremely careful. And it will encourage Microsoft to be even more arrogant, which is not good for them.

Personally, I'm a little shocked. Microsoft gets to market products both seperately and together arbitrarily and call them integrated? The conesnt decree was meaningless.
