Here is what I think the following chart is telling me. My personal observation are inserted as (CAPITAL LETTERS).
chart1.bigcharts.com

The top part of the chart shows:

Bollinger Bands:
Sharp price changes tend to occur after the bands tighten (TO ME IT APPEARS THEY ARE TIGHTING CONSIDERABLY), after volatility lessens (VOLATILITY IN MY OPINION IT ALSO HAS DECREASED CONSIDERABLY). When prices move outside the bands (THE UPWARD PRICE HAS NOT QUITE YET), a continuation of the current trend is implied. (Take a look again at the chart tomorrow after it has been updated to reflect today's trading)
-
NEXT on the bottom part of the chart:
-
The stochastic indicator is plotted as two lines. They are the %D line and the %K line. The stochastic is plotted on a chart with values ranging from 0 to 100.
-
Readings above 80 are strong and indicate that price is closing near its high. Readings below 20 (SEE HOW CLOSE TO 20 THEY ARE) are strong and indicate that price is closing near its low (TO ME THAT IS JUST WHAT IT IS SAYING).
-
Ordinarily, the %K line will change direction before the %D line.
However, when the %D line changes direction prior to the %K line (AND THE %D LINE HAS CHANGED DIRECTION PRIOR TO THE %K), a slow and steady reversal (UPWARD IN MY OPINION) is usually indicated.
-
Be sure to view this again later this evening or tomorrow when it reflects the trading of 6/22/98 and see what it shows.
-
Just food for thought, I could be wrong you know, but don't think so.
-
WHAT DO THE REST OF YOU THINK?
