Last Friday I could not go long because I was thinking about consolidating all my cash instead of spending whatever was available then. Therefore, I think I lost an opportunity. After today, I do not feel like going long in the chip sector because I feel like they may stay in a range for a while. Any suggestion what would be a good company to look at the Tech sector other than chip sector? I think INTC will stall at 77 and I could be wrong as well. I have no faith in IBM with its global exposure. MSFT looks okay but tomorrow there might be another lawsuit. DELL is all right but we heard about the sub 1000 PC. Any idea will be welcome. TIA.
Bye,
SB
PS: CS reported .04 (estimate was .06) along with some buyout news. What's up with 3Com? I'm still waiting.

FLA appeals court overturns 1st ever verdict against tobacco industry

nope
it wasnt against the labor laws
dont remember why
but I know I checked with the appropriate local office
and it was common to give no breaks but a lunch break..that one was more common

it was not uncommon to work 15-20 hours in a day on that job and no overtime unless you worked 40 hours that week and they tried to make sure you didnt get any overtime if you werent a supervisor

it was doing inventory for an inventory service with a machine tied to my belt

I was THE TOP GUN on my machine and a supervisor...I even had a little patch

and I hated doing that job ...HATED IT

talk about digging and moving and getting grimy and hot conditions
and all of those good kind of things....

one of the hottest was doing a warehouse at a lumber/hardware yard in an a tiny alcove when it was about 105 outside inventorying a bunch of little greasy gizmos

I almost passed out

btw, you would not believe what goes on in the Inventory business

but I wont say since this is a MAJOR inventory company and it wouldnt be wise to tell their little secrets...

at least when I ran a combine or a tractor it was airconditioned...well some of them...

one guy was killed because a piece of machinery rolled over ...cant remember if it was tractor or combine
another guy lost his arm
another lost some fingers
one lost an eye

scared the heck out of me

not to mention what happens to you when you are messing around with cows

almost got my brains scrambled from an onery cow
still have a scar on my head from that...at least my hair covers it... and the cows sure do like to do certain things to you that are quite YUCKY
