Jan 99 options -- or later -- could make some sense. Shorter term -- big burn. Potentially. IMHO. Who knows. I haven't priced the Julys, but I imagine they have some pretty steep time premium built in, no?

Wouldn't be at all hard for July options to loose money. Of course, could also make lots.

By late fall the potential of Rambus should be truly undeniable, even by the skeptics -- if plans remain mostly on track. If not, stock bought now should still do great (albeit with a bit lower IRR due to stretch out), but Jan options could conceivably go bust.

I.e., the stock is a pretty low risk investment in my opinion, if you know enough. It may not look like a fairly low risk investment (what with hardly any current earnings and all), but it is.

Sorta like Loral and Globalstar. Actually, probably a bit lower risk.

Doug

Barry,

Re. The news were there all the time

Not quite. The CPQ and DELL announcement came a day earlier, but the Semicon (as manufacturing arm of RDRAM silicon) was disclosed Sunday night 11:30 pm (when I first posted to the Intel thread.). So, I would say the serious investment community had been vigilant about this.

Re. Emotions

I found it specially rewarding that something I speculated just the night before had materialized--and so dramatically. For me, it's not just the $$$$ that fueled the spirit.

Regards,
Ibexx

HERE WE GO BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shorts didn't complete their covering today because they were all caught with their collective pants down! Tonight they will be calculating their losses and potential losses now that after hours trading is indicating a higher opening tomorrow!

I expect to see some SERIOUS covering for the next two days because of the high level of short interest, and some MAJOR inflows from the herd mentality momentum players!

LOOK FOR RMBS TO CLOSE OVER $55 BY WEDNESDAY!!!

$weet Dream$

$tarpopper

PS. Too bad RMBS didn't dip low enough recently so that my $34 order could be filled...oh well, that's what I get for being greedy!:-)
