What price weakness?

Dear Chris - there's no price weakness. NIR has held at $2 or above for two months now. I and others have posted here and on the SH NIR thread that Napier and Aquasol expected the share price to rise and hold between $2-3 following the April 21 news - which it has. The $4.88 run up caught everyone by surprise - but it bodes very very (extremely) very well for the future. Look at the continued low volume - very few people want to sell at these levels!

The quarterly report will just be the same format as that for the third quarter - to see that one go to:

ftp.bcse.gov.bc.ca

Take a look at Form 61(BC) March 27, 1998 for the last quarterly report. The statement is just a balance sheet - but once it comes out check the numbers against those of the last one, and the one before that. The financial position continues to improve with each quarter and they'll be technically profitable by the end of this July! Not bad for what was essentially a research company. There will be no News in this statement, no huge order (not yet) - but orders are increasing month-over-month - means that with very month that goes buy - their order book just keeps getting bigger, with sales increasing month by month.

Remember, this (revolutionary) technology is still very new and it will take time to make it's way into the mainstream - but the market will and has recognized it's importance.

Napier's Annual Information form is dated May 20, 1998 and is just labelled as `Other' - also at the SEDAR site - lots of good reading there - it's something like the US 10K form.

Given the run up after the last big News what do you think the market will pay when:

(1) The institutions start to buy in (at or above $5 I've been told);
(2) Order books are full;
(3) Manufacturing is at capacity;
(4) ICI's worldwide marketing monster fires up;
(5) K-G Packaging/CCL Industries start the big retail push;
(6) US environmental law kicks in Sept. '98 outlawing many traditional strippers;
(7) US Navy decides that testing is over and order - the Nimitz is just beginning a major refit;
(8) The oil companies see what Amoco is doing and decide they also 'want in';
(9) The car manufacturers start to order (recall the ICI guy told me that they will be able to offer a longer warranty if these products are used to prep surfaces);
(10) Napier's P/E goes insane;
(11) The environmental groups give these products their worldwide blessing. For example - here's and e-mail I received today:

Hi David - Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like an interesting product. Our organization works with the Shipyard and Aerospace industries, so this product sounds like it would have applications for both. Do you have any other information about the product - MSDS or other Data sheet?? I am particularly interested in further information about the vacuum system as well. Any information can be sent to the address below.

Thanks!

Thanks again to Gino for suggesting that I write to them (he should be back tomorrow).

(12) Customers realize that there is a `dip tank' variant in the SV-35 product line. This is what the small aircraft manufacturer's wanted - Cessna being the first.

What of the home refurbishment industry - just try to strip old timbers from buildings either being renovated or demolished - people will pay a lot of money for that old timber - especially the old pine planks;

(13) SV-35 can be used to strip cars - works very well I've been told.

(14) Lastly, recall my earlier post explaining why no-one has come along and just scooped up NIR in a market takeover, to repeat what I said then:

+++
Hostile or market takeover - "very unlikely". However, my source said that they "would love to see it". More than 50% of NIR is held by less than 10 large long term holders and is "held very closely", "a lot of the people from the anti-stain days are still there" and they "remain very significant and loyal players".

Any takeover would require board approval.

To quote - '"if it's tried in the market they would have to get to $20 before they even got a quarter of the way there".

This is why no-one has come along in the last few weeks with $100-$200 million or even $500 million and just tried to scoop up Napier - despite the glowing reports strongly indicating where this technology is headed. It would require a market offer initially in the low billions to even begin to make any headway.

Conclusion: a takeover attempt in the market - it just isn't going to happen folks.

All of the above just takes time to evolve. So far so good - I wish that I could move ahead six or twelve months to see where we'll be at then. I'll just have to wait it out like everyone else.

Lastly, a very special thanks to the person who sold NIR at $2.14 today - picked up another 400 - much obliged!

Dinner time,

David in Ontario :-)
