Hi Doug, nice to see you over here on this thread. True, the financial stocks are cyclicals, but I like Goldman, worked there once, and think the firm has enormous potential as a public company. With currency of its own, stock, Goldman can look to acquire some other players. I think the Goldman management has the knowledge and expertise to grow Goldman to something even greater when public. The only fear I have has to do with the fact that many people just below partners, especially Managing Directors, are upset because they are just one step away from being a partner. Now they will never get the chance to become a partner, and I am afraid that some may jump ship. I hope not, but one never knows what money can do to some people.
