I am convinced. Warm up the potatoe truck. We will
need a pick shovel and a someone who knows how to
work. $50.00 cash should do it.

That optimum cooling rate should be good for a
doctoral disservice. Print it out on toilet paper
and send it in to SFU. Sumpin to think about. Fissures
do often have good grades. But you know sumpin else?
diatremes come out according to Bernoulli's law at near
jet speeds. The higher the speed the lower the temp
pressure as the energy must be equivalent. So they already
room temp. That is why they are not extensive volcanic
systems. One blow out, an ash fall and its all over till
the next cycle. Not so lamproites which are pyroclastic
and non explosive. Texture looks the same to the untrained
eye.

Kimberlites pipes are by definition an altered (serpentinized)
peridotite porphyritic tuff breccia. This diatreme
(explosive volcano) facies is an implosive ash tuff.
The hypabyssal phase is the deeper fine grained feeder
zone. The crater facies is the fall back ash above the
diatreme blow out of the pipe. So it you find that
crystal tuff diatreme texture you know what you are
looking at. Not a dyke system which is more akin to the
hypabyssal phase but the venting or explosive phase.
