micron on a buying spree:

rendition.com

Hopefully someone comes along and takes a stab at TDFX. If they offered me $18 a share tomorrow I would take it in a heartbeat.

I'm not complaining. When a 20% per day drop seems to be the norm, UP 1/8 of a point is exciting (!).

On the Micron/Rendition news, I'm not sure if I would welcome a buyout offer at this point in time. TDFX stock has been beat up to the point where investors might dump the company in a fire sale; destroying our chances for great long term appreciation in exchange for a quick 10% or 20% gain on present holdings.

That would be unfortunate when one considers that just a few months prior we would have laughed at a $30 per share offer. Time may have changed investor sentiments but it has not changed 3DFX in any appreciable way. They are still the same company with great products, a strong balance sheet, and big plans for the future.

How many of you bought and dumped Intel, Compaq, Microsoft, or America Online 5+ years ago on some short term downswing and negative investor sentiment? Was that a smart decision? Don't repeat it now.
