Curly: An Excellent Post. I also have been frustrated that Cymer has waited so long to buy back substantial quantities of stock. It is clearly linked to demonstrating the strong corporate commitment to maximizing shareholder value (even in difficult times). Cymer has lost some investors because its stock failed to stabilize before it re-tested its 52-week low. Investor psychology is extremely important.

My Company (a diversified media firm) often has stock buy backs in place throughout our fiscal year. We are a much more mature company than Cymer. We also do not have to build additional capacity and a global support network. Yet, life is often a series of compromises. Cymer must send a stronger message to its current and potential investors.

Have you considered discussing your thoughts (in an email or phone call) with CYMI's CFO, Bill Angus?

Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained.

Thanks Again for sharing your insights.

Curlton- Maybe they've started buying back today. up as high as 16 3/8. <GGG> Your point is a good one, though you would think if this technology and company were that attractive someone, (Nikon, cannon, Intel, Amat etc. etc) would have been interested long ago and because of the big tank over the last 6 months they'd be buying now. -Neal

PS- Does Mr Akins have time to read our lowly thread....
